Considering the importance of energy in the international exchanges, and its considerable role in the national economy, as well as the very sensitive position of the I.R.Iran, in terms of energy (oil and gas) production, in the international level, and its effect on OPEC, concentration on the "Energy Economics" issues is of a great importance to the country. One of the most important goals of the Constitution of the I.R. Iran is to reinforce and strengthen economy independence and prepare requirements of economy growth in the Islamic formats. To promote managers and experts in terms of scientific and practical abilities are of requirements to achieve this goal, so that they can plan macro energy production and consumption programs. Therefore, the Energy Economics Research Center, as one of the active IIES research centers, with extensive researches in the various energy economics fields has attempted to prepare valuable and update information for decision-makers, managers and senior experts of the energy sector, since 1991. This research center strives to promote its analyzing potentials regarding various issues of energy economics, in order to develop optimum solutions for problems and challenges of the country's petroleum industry.
